Cross the Shishikui River from Shishikui, and you’ll find yourself gazing upon the expanse of Mitoko Bay. Unusually for the Pacific coast, it’s dotted with small islands: Kagori, Sabi, and Ueba.
Mornings at Mitoko Bay are a spectacle to behold. As night reluctantly gives way to day, the sky retains a touch of darkness while the horizon blazes orange. The sun rises between the islands, its rays piercing through as if day and night were joining hands to usher in a new dawn. With the gentle lapping of waves as a soundtrack, a new day begins in serene beauty.
Getting there: About 5 minutes by car from Shishikui Tourist Terminal along National Route 55.
